He brings a wealth of experience across high-end residential construction, complex reclads, and unique film set builds, where accuracy, creativity, and fast turnarounds were key. That diverse background has shaped his approach to building today: detailed, practical, and always driven by quality.
As the founder of DLC, Evan leads the team with a hands-on attitude and a strong commitment to getting things done right the first time. He’s passionate about mentoring younger builders, solving tricky challenges, and creating spaces that feel solid, well-designed, and built to last.
Whether it’s a full-scale new build or a bespoke deck, Evan brings the same level of care and leadership to every project.
Joel
Joely is a licensed builder and co-director at de Lautour Carpentry. With a calm, steady presence and a sharp eye for quality, Joely is the go-to guy on site for clear decision-making and clever problem-solving. His background includes both traditional residential construction and film set building, where precision and adaptability were essential under tight timelines.
At DLC, Joely plays a vital leadership role, overseeing day-to-day work, managing site teams, and ensuring every detail is followed through properly.
He shares Evan’s vision of building a company known for honest communication, skilled workmanship, and reliability. Whether working with clients or leading the crew, Joely always brings integrity, focus, and pride to the job.
Owen
With over a decade of building experience, Owen brings a wealth of knowledge and craftsmanship to the team. His background spans residential and commercial construction, film set builds, and just about everything in between.
His versatility is matched by his calm presence, sharp eye for detail, and methodical approach to the work. Owen joined DLC recently as we took on a major project, and we knew right away he was the right fit. He’s meticulous, observant, and focused, exactly the kind of builder you want when precision matters most.

Rory
Rory has been with us since day one, joining the team as our apprentice and steadily working his way toward becoming a licensed builder. From the start, his motivation, curiosity, and dedication have stood out. He’s keen to get involved in every stage of the job, always ready to learn and take on new challenges, and we’re proud to teach him everything we know.
But Rory brings more than just a strong work ethic. He’s a people person, clients connect with him instantly, and he brings a great energy to every site. His sense of humour and contagious laugh keep spirits high, even on the longest days. It’s a real joy having someone like Rory around, he reminds us that working hard and having a good time can go hand in hand.

Jimmy is a qualified builder with a solid background in both residential construction and film set building. His experience working on film projects taught him how to work under pressure, adapt quickly, and maintain a sharp eye for detail, skills he brings into every project at DLC.

He’s got a great instinct for getting the job done right without wasting time, and his practical mindset makes him a go-to team member across all stages of a build.

Trey is an apprentice builder who’s fast becoming an all-round asset on site.
He joined DLC with a strong drive to learn and a genuine respect for the trade.
Under the guidance of Evan, Joely, and the rest of the crew, Trey is developing hands-on skills in everything from foundations to finishing, and he’s not afraid to ask questions, pitch in, or go the extra mile.
